Dawn grew up in a small town in northern Nevada and wrote stories and novels about imaginary places in far off places. At the age of 18 she moved to southern Idaho and has remained there since.
Dawn started drawing in 2002. Even though she'd dabbled in painting previously, it never turned out right and it wasn't until after learning how to draw that she started painting seriously. Her artwork and photography started winning awards, including the Best of Color Photography in the profession division of a local contest. She started building up a following of collectors in the eastern United States and along the Pacific coastline. In 2008 she made her first international sale.
How does Dawn think about her art?
"I try to find the beauty in the world around us. It
seems to be shrinking every day. With my
photography, I strive to show the beauty of the
earth the way it is and in my art I try to show how it
should be. I'd like to bring my collectors a window of
peace."
